The Bondi to Tamarama walk
Distance: 1.2 km
Bondi Icebergs to Tamarama Beach
Time: 25 minutes + stops
Medium, steep stairs, paved track
The Bondi to Coogee walk begins at the bottom of Notts Avenue, near the Icebergs pool, South Bondi. The Bondi to Coogee walk can also be accessed by stairs via Marks park above the Bondi to Coogee walk. From Notts Avenue the path drops to a concrete waterfront walking track between rock overhangs and waves and crosses a gully. This part of the walk offers sweeping views of North and South Bondi. Look out for a surviving Aboriginal rock engraving of a shark or whale adjacent to the walkway to the left, just past the steps below Marks park along the Bondi to Coogee walk. The path sweeps around a cove and a small inlet called Mackenzies Bay to climb around the next headland to emerge near Tamarama SLSC clubhouse. The Bondi to Tamarama walk hosts the annual Sculpture by the Sea outdoor exhibition of over a 100 artworks displayed along the coast.
The Sculpture by the Sea is an annual art exhibition along the walk.
Mackenzies Beach is a popular surfing spot.
